Despite the uproar,  controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola known as Portable, has performed at the Celestial Church of Christ’s Goshen Land Cathedral during their praise night on Friday.

The church had faced heavy criticisms for inviting Portable and Pasuma to perform initially.

Portable remained determined to perform despite public criticism, expressing in a viral video that he shouldn’t be judged by his appearance and asserting his identity as a child of God.

As promised, he appeared at the praise night location and enthralled the audience with his performance.

There was widespread questioning of the church’s decision to involve secular artistes in a religious event.

However, Aderemi Dabiri, the founder of a Lagos State branch of the Celestial Church of Christ, clarified the intention behind inviting Fuji singer Alabi Pasuma and the controversial street-hop artist Portable.

Dabiri, while addressing a delegation from the church’s task force, explained that their intention was to attract new converts through this unconventional approach.

He emphasized that this method of evangelism had been successful in increasing the church’s membership over the years.

Additionally, Dabiri criticized some gospel ministers for their lack of respect, highlighting Pasuma’s respectful demeanor and agreement with their approach.
