The head coach of Nigeria Premier Football League club Akwa United, Fatai Osho, has reportedly resigned from his position at the club.

The Promise Keepers have struggled under Osho’s tutelage this season, prompting the coach to step down.

The former NPFL champions have recorded three wins in 14 league matches this term.

Sunday’s 1-0 away defeat to Heartland was his last game in charge of Akwa United, leaving the club in the bottom half of the NPFL table, in 17th position.

Despite high expectations following Osho’s appointment in the summer, he faced many challenges, having secured only three victories out of 14 games played.

The club is expected to issue an official statement regarding Osho’s departure and is expected to announce a potential replacement later today.

Osho joined Akwa United at the start of the current campaign.
