Music band kidnapped in Abuja after event

A Nigerian juju band Omoba De Jumbo Beats has been reportedly kidnapped along the Lokoja-Abuja highway while returning from an event.

According to another juju singer, Adeyinka Adeboye in a Instagram post, the band leader of Omoba De Jombo Beats was kidnapped alongside his crew members on Sunday.

The singer alleged that the kidnappers are demanding N10 million as ransom for each member of the group.

Adeboye also shared the pictures of the victims while calling for help.

“May God in His Infinite mercy bring you guys back home in peace in Jesus Name. GOD pls bring these your children back home,” he wrote.

“This is so so scary. God have mercy @omobadejumbobeats and his band men were kidnapped on their way to Kogi from Abuja for performance yesterday, please we need help as the kidnappers are demanding #10m ransom on each person.”

Reacting to the incident, Josephine Adeh, the FCT police spokesperson, said the force is not aware of the incident.

“Within Abuja, we have not heard any such report from our end. There is a need for me to also confirm if there is anything of such. Probably nobody has come to report, or they have not informed us yet,” she said.

On his part, William Ovye Aya, the Kogi police PRO, said: “I have not received such a report. But I will find out.

”Such a thing did not happen. One issue with people is even Abuja jurisdiction is also Abuja-Lokoja road. People do not know which jurisdiction to mention.”
