Abuja Division of Court of Appeal on Tuesday affirmed the victory of the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo in the 18
March election for Ifo 1, State Constituency.

The court dismissed the petition of his challenger in the election, Okikiola Ogundele of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The court equally awarded a N500,000 ( five hundred thousand naira) fine against the PDP candidate.

In his reaction, Speaker Oluomo stated that the judgement was a reaffirmation of his victory, which was consistently affirmed from the ballot box to the appellate court.

He expressed appreciation to his constituents for believing in his representation, while commending the judiciary for its consistency in the pursuit of justice for the promotion of democracy.

He added that the judgement would spur him to do more for his constituents and the State.
