The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has been sworn in as Governor by the Chief Judge the State, Justice Olusegun Odusola.
Aiyedatiwa’s emergence as the Ondo helmsman follows the death of the state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu. Aiyedatiwa had been the Acting Governor while Akeredolu was away from the country on medical leave.
The ex-Deputy Governor was sworn in at the governor’s office in Akure at exactly 5:14 pm
Those present at the ceremony were the Speaker of the state House of Assembly Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji, members of the assembly, the secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu and the state chairman of the ruling party APC, Ade Adetimehin.
Members of the Ondo State cabinet and others were also present.
