Former Speaker of House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghali Na'Abba: dies in Abuja Wednesday morning, after a brief illness.

A former Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghali Na’Abba is dead.

Na’Abba died in Abuja Wednesday morning, after a brief illness.

Ghali Na’Abba, a Kano-born maverick politician succeeded ousted Speaker Salisu Buhari, who was removed as Speaker of House of Representatives in the wake of the Fourth Republic, following his Toronto certificate Scandal exposed by TheNEWS Magazine.

Details of his demise remain sketchy as at the time of filling this report.

However, Ahmed Tijjani Lawal, an Aide to the deceased, confirmed that the 8th speaker died in the early hours of Wednesday at the National Hospital, Abuja.

“We are currently making arrangements to transport the corpse to Kano for burial today,” he said.

Na’Abba was born on September 27, 1958. He left behind one wife, 10 children and three grandchildren.

He had represented Kano Municipal Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

Na’Abba was born into the family of Umar Na’Abba, a businessman in Tudun Wada, Kano City, on 27 September 1958 and was a graduate of Political Science from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
