Rivers Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu on Saturday led his top officers on surprise visits to police checkpoints in the boundary areas between the State and Imo.
Officers who accompanied CP Disu on the visit include DC Operations, Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Olugbenga Adepoju, Commander CP X-Squad, Commander, CP Monitoring Unit, and SP Grace Iringe-Koko the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO.
CP Disu addressed the Police personnel at the checkpoints, warning them to avoid deliberately creating long traffic jams, long queues and extortion of motorists.
He also urged them to be civil to members of the public in their engagements, while they must also ensure the prevention of crimes during the Yuletide season.
CP Disu also ordered the removal of covers from the number plates of some vehicles seen at the scene.
