Mohamed Salah scored a brace as Liverpool opened a three-point gap at the top of the premier league on Monday after thrashing Newcastle United 4-2 at the Anfield Stadium.

After a goalless first half, Liverpool drew the first blood shortly after the restart. Darwin Nunez played a lovely pass into the box and found Mohamed Salah. He tried his luck from close range and coolly struck the ball into the back of the net.

The Egyptian had earlier missed a penalty in the first half but compensated with the goal.

Five minutes later, Newcastle equalised. Alexander Isak received a killer pass, found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and coolly sent the ball into the back of the net.
