The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) appointed Yetunde Oni as the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Union Bank on Wednesday.

Not many people know who Oni is. Here are 10 quick facts about her.

1. Oni has 29 years expertise in client solutions, relationship management, team leadership, and talent development.

2. She was the first female Managing Director and CEO at Standard Chartered Bank in Sierra Leone.

3. Oni began her career in 1991 at Prime Merchant Limited Nigeria, handling responsibilities in the Treasury Department

4. She joined Oceanic Bank now Ecobank in 1994, where she originated credit facilities for multinationals and top local corporations in various sectors.

5. Oni joined Standard Chartered in 2005 as a Senior Relationship Manager/Area Manager.

6. She was promoted to lead the Local Corporates and Commodity Traders Team of Standard Chartered, achieving significant growth in client revenues, offshore revenues, asset book, and improving the Liability to Asset Ratio.
