Emmanuel Daraloye, a Nigeria-based music critic, is one of the culture shapers in the current Afrobeats movement. His thought-provoking reviews, articles, and spotlight writing have become a point of reference for industry experts.

With close to half a decade of experience in music criticism, he has remained unknown, with little to nothing to unravel about him.

Here are ten things you need to know about him:

1. He was born Emmanuel Daraloye in Ipele, Ondo State in 1994.

2. He was raised in Akure, Ondo State.

4. Emmanuel spent a large chunk of his growing up reading and writing.

4. Emmanuel is an alumnus of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo Town, Ondo State. He studied English Education and graduated in 2023.

5. While in 100L, he co-founded an online Newspaper(Arbico Parrot) on campus, alongside his coursemate, Ayomide Oguntimehin.

6. Between 2015 and 2019, Emmanuel worked with Arbico FM, EKI 100.9 Fm, Ondo Own and Music & Culture 106.5 Fm, and Ondo Town as a newscaster, co-presenter, and On-Air Personality (OAP).

7. In the last decade, Emmanuel has worked as a talent manager, show organizer, media aide, social media manager, and content creator for brands and individuals.

8. As of January 2024, Emmanuel is a Senior Music Critic at Afrocritik. He also regularly contributes to Not Just Ok, The Cable News, and The Lagos Review. Emmanuel has contributed articles, interviews, and spotlight writing to over fifteen African media platforms.

9. Emmanuel currently serves as the team lead for Flem PR. A firm that deals in Artiste Management, Artiste branding, Media Rollout, Music Publishing, and Industry plugging.
