Morocco, one of the favourites to win the 2024 AFCON tournament, opened the scoring past midway into the first half.
Romain Saiss fired the rebound into the bottom left corner after the ball broke to him in the box to make the score 1-0.
In the 36th minute, Hakim Ziyech received a low pass just outside the box and unleashed a fine strike towards the right post. Aishi Salum Manula pulled off a reflexive save to block his effort.
In the 70th minute, Novatus Miroshi was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.
Seven minutes later, Azzedine Ounahi collected a pass and without hesitation fired an unstoppable shot into the bottom left corner for Morocco’s second goal.
In the 80th minute, Achraf Hakimi displayed great vision and sent a pass to Youssef En Nesyri, who showed brilliant composure inside the box to bury the ball into the back of the net.
First minute into added time, Amine Adli fired a strong shot to the middle of the goal and the save was unexpectedly difficult for Aishi Salum Manula.
A minute later, Bilal El Khannouss was the first to latch onto the rebound inside the penalty area. He drilled a low shot towards the middle of the goal, but it was denied by the goalkeeper who pulled off a superb save.
