A former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Engr Adebayo Dayo, has dumped the party to join the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Ogun APC, in a statement issued in Abeokuta by its Publicity Secretary in the State, Tunde Oladunjoye, on Thursday said the defection of Engr. Adebayo Dayo to its fold should have happened much earlier, but it is still a step in the right direction.

“We welcome Engr. Dayo into the progressives fold. We salute his courage and hope to tap from his rich grassroots political experience.”

The party further assured of a level playing field and equal opportunity for all, adding, “as our leader and Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has always said ‘in the APC, there are no founders, there are no joiners. We are all stakeholders and family members.”

Ogun APC further expressed the hope that in the next couple of days, more members of the “asphyxiating Ogun state PDP will abandon it and join the gentleman, but hardworking governor in taking Ogun state to greater heights, thereby giving meaning to the slogan ‘Igbega ipinle Ogun, ajose gbogbo wa ni’.”
