There is joy and jubilation in Nigeria after the Super Eagles defeated the Elephant of Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 on Thursday to brighten their chances of qualifying for AFCON knockout stage.

The Eagles scored from the penalty spot after Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen was brought down in the box by an Ivorian player.

Eagles stand-in captain and defender, Williams Troost-Ekong won the battle of wills and sent a terrific shot inside the net.

The Ivorians never recovered from that goal as the Nigerian side held on for a famous win against the host that had mounted the pressure on the Nigerian side from the beginning.
