The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Kenneth Gbagi, seeking to remove Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State.
The apex court had earlier dismissed the appeal of the All progressives Congress and its candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege, against Oborevwori’s election victory.
A five-member panel of the Supreme court in Gbagi’s case said that he and his party were unable to prove the election was conducted without substantial compliance with the relevant laws .
The apex court held that Oborevwori was qualified to contest the last governorship election in Delta State.
