S’Court dismisses SDP’s appeal against Oborevwori

The apex court held that  Oborevwori was qualified to contest the last governorship election in Delta State.

The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal filed  by the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Kenneth Gbagi, seeking to remove Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State.

The apex court had earlier dismissed the appeal of the All progressives Congress and its candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege, against Oborevwori’s  election victory.

A five-member panel of the  Supreme court in Gbagi’s case said that he and his party were unable to prove  the election was conducted without substantial compliance with the relevant laws .

The apex court held that  Oborevwori was qualified to contest the last governorship election in Delta State.
