Tems, manager call out American producer ATL Jacob

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, and American record producer, ATL Jacob, are at war on social media.

The drama started after ATL Jacob claimed in a recent podcast that Tems was initially adamant about clearing her sample on Future’s ‘Wait For U’ which featured her and Drake.

ATL Jacob, who produced the song, stated that Future had to talk to Drake to use his relationship with Tems to get her to approve the sample.

His claim earned backlash on social media with Tems and her manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi also refuting it.

Reacting to the backlash via X, ATL Jacob wrote: “I gave my side of the story about me creating a HIT song after being INSPIRED by the song i sampled .. someone reacting so Negatively to a subject that meant no harm SHOWS A LOT Out of all the good shit i said about you @temsbaby over the years this the only reaction i get?

“All this negativity coming to me … I got a $100,000 wire transfer for Tems and her team to find me 1 time I spoke negatively about her.”

Replying, Tems offered the American producer $1 million instead, if he would stop “telling lies.”

“Its not about saying anything negative. Stop telling lies. I’ll give you 1 million,” she wrote.

Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi also waded into the conversation countering ATL Jacob’s claims.

“Dude. You have no side to a story because ALL you said was a lie. This is about a specific video circulating on the internet. We cleared the record immediately. Got no call from drake and lastly had no such convo at the Grammys. Tems won’t reply you. But I have your time.

“You can’t twist the narrative. You lied. That’s it. You can apologise and say you got your information wrong but clearly, decorum is missing.”

“You lied about us not wanting to clear the record. You also lied that Drake had to call us to clear the record. You then lied and said you spoke to Tems saying “No need to thank me” at the Grammys. This is literally recorded in HD. What exactly is wrong with you???,” he wrote.

I’m cool with rumors, they’re funny and can be ignored. But blatant lies? They’re harmful and unacceptable. Your reputation is all you have. Guard it with your life. E go be
