Millions of People of Ethiopia trooped out on Saturday during the grand finale events to celebrate Timket, the annual Ethiopian Epiphany festival, in the country’s capital, Addis Ababa.

The celebration began on Thursday 19 Jan across Ethiopia with government officials and religious leaders urging the faithful to maintain peace and the world’s intangible cultural heritage.

Timket is a religious festival commemorating Jesus’ baptism in the Jordan River.

The annual festival is recognised by UNESCO as an important intangible cultural heritage.
