Police arrest 2 suspected kidnappers in Edo

Police operatives in Edo have arrested two suspected kidnappers identified as Chinedu Clement (34), and Usman Abdullahi (40) in Iguobazuwa, Ovia South West and Ugboha in Esan South-East local government areas of the State respectively.
The State Police Commissioner, Funsho Adeboye, while parading the suspects, disclosed that Chinedu Clement was arrested by the operatives of lguobazuwa division, following credible intelligence.
He added that the operatives stormed the kidnappers’ hideout along lkoha Road, Ugbogui and arrested the suspect who is a members of a kidnapping syndicate in the area.
In a related department, Abdullahi was arrested by operatives of Ugboha Division during a stop and search duty, along Ugboha-Uromi Road.
CP Adeboye said the suspect was identified as a kidnapper by two of his victims.
Items recovered from Usman Abdullahi include, one face mask, four packet of cigarettes and food items.
According to the Edo CP, the suspects who made statements and confessed to being kidnappers, will soon be charged to court.
