Rivers governor Siminalayi Fubara on Friday brought back the nine commissioners who dumped him in the heat of the political crises spurred by disagreement between him and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike into his cabinet.

The nine commissioners had dumped Fubara in the heat of the crisis in solidarity with Wike who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

However, the return of the commissioners to the cabinet was one of the terms of the peace deal brokered between Fubara and Wike by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking against the background of the circumstances that led to their return to office, Fubara told the returnee commissioners to act in a manner that posterity would judge them in a positive light.

“I wish you well in your coming back. Stand for justice, and stand for the interests of our dear state. That is the purpose of your appointment and that is the truth.

“I can see how heavy your hearts are. But I assure you that I don’t have anything against any of you. You were caught in between during the crossfire.”
