The Kano State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has written an appreciation letter to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Usaini Gumel for his collaborative efforts in fighting the war against drug abuse and peddling in the state.
NDLEA expressed delight that the police under the watch of CP Gumel, have helped in curtailing circulation of illicit drug abuse and dealing in Kano state.
CP Gumel also received appreciation letters from the Kano State Ministry of Education, The Independent Magazine Publishers Association of Nigeria, and many others for efforts in tackling insecurity, and great contributions to the development of the nation’s security among many other Commendations.
Our Correspondent reports that on January 25, 2024, the NDLEA, Kano State Command presented a letter of appreciation to CP Gumel, for his collaborative effort towards curtailing the abuse, dealings and trafficking of illicit drugs in Kano State.
The letter partly reads: “I hereby acknowledge the receipt of your transfer of exhibits CR:3100/KSX/SUR/VOL.1/166 dated 24th January 2024 and to express my sincere appreciation for your collaborative efforts towards curtailing the abuse, dealing and trafficking of illicit drugs in Kano State
“I want to also use this opportunity to inform you that the exhibits are made up of: 1,234 compressed blocks of weeds suspected to be cannabis sativa concealed in 17sacks; 279 compressed blocks of dry weeds suspected to be cannabis sativa concealed in 5 1/2 sacks.
“The above substances were field tested and all proved positive for cannabis sativa totalling 1,603 blocks with a combined weight of 836kg.
” While thanking you and your team for these successes, the Command will appreciate further collaboration in this regard. Kindly accept the assurance of my highest regards.”
Moreso, on January 23, 2024, the Independent Magazine Publishers Association of Nigeria commended CP Gumel, describing him as one of the few dynamic combatant senior Police Officers in the country who have lived up to expectations in achieving the mandate of the Inspector General of Police on security.
Also, on January 7, 2024, the Kano State Ministry of Education presented a letter of appreciation to CP Gumel for his immense contribution and dedication towards ensuring peace and peaceful coexistence that is being enjoyed in the State.
In December last year, CP Gumel also received several letters of appreciation and commendation for his outstanding achievements and unwavering commitment towards fighting crime and ensuring the safety and well-being of the people of Kano State.
Some of the letters are: Letter of commendation from A A Sule Lokon Makera; Letter of appreciation from Bashir, Nasiru & Co. ;Letter of appreciation from Muslim Professionals in Da’awah; and Letter of appreciation from Awaisu Organization Gobirawa Kurna Asabe Dala Local Government Area.
