Controversial Nigerian artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has confidently stated that his track, ‘Zazu,’ gained global recognition prior to Olamide’s participation in the remix in 2021.

Portable emphasized that Olamide’s collaboration wouldn’t have materialized if he hadn’t already attained a level of popularity and if ‘Zazu’ hadn’t gone viral.

During a recent episode of the Bae U Barbi show, Curiosity Made Me Ask, Portable also addressed allegations that he’s been coasting on the success of ‘Zazu’ since achieving fame, clarifying that he’s released multiple hit singles and two albums since then.

He stated, “Since when we did dropped ‘Zazu’ with Baddo [Olamide], that one has gone [sic]. I am the one they [fans] are listening to, I am dropping back to back. If you don’t drop again, they will forget you. If I don’t drop again, they won’t hear me. That is why I am putting more energy.”

Portable attributed Olamide’s assistance to his existing popularity, stating, “It is because I was popular that made Olamide help me. If I wasn’t popular, they won’t help me. ‘Zazu’ blew worldwide. My freestyle went viral”.
