Police rescue nine kidnapped PDP members in Edo

Police operatives in Edo State said they have rescued the nine members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), from kidnappers’ den.
The victims, who were ad-hoc electoral officials for the PDP delegate election in the state, were reportedly kidnapped on Saturday in Jattu area, in Etsako West Local Government Area.
They were said to be on their way to Ekperi, Etsako Central Local Government Area to supervise the congress when they were kidnapped by at gun point.
The Command’s spokesman, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the rescue, said the operation was carried out by the operatives of the Jattu Division.
He said on receiving the information, the divisional police officer mobilized operatives for bush-combing to rescue the victims.
“The police have rescued them. The DPO of Jattu confirmed that the victims have been successfully rescued,” he said.
