Jonathan condemns Pakistan terror attacks on eve of elections

The Chair of the Commonwealth Observer Group Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has condemned the recent fatal attacks in Pakistan, in the run-up to the general elections.

Jonathan, in a statement released by The Commonwealth Office, expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wished a quick recovery to those injured.

He also commended the security and polling officials for their bravery in ensuring the election goes ahead, despite those cases of violence.

He said: “As the Commonwealth, we stand in solidarity with the people of Pakistan and are united in our desire to see the strengthening of the Commonwealth Charter values of peace, democracy, tolerance, respect and understanding”.
