Why I appeared before Sokoto probe panel -- Tambuwal

Former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal says he appeared before the Sokoto State Judicial Commission of Inquiry because no one is above  the law.

Tambuwal who is now the senator representing the Sokoto Senatorial District,  said this in a post on his Facebook page.

He wrote:  “Earlier today, I appeared before the Justice Mu’azu Abdulkadir Pindiga led Sokoto State Judicial Commission of Inquiry Instituted by my successor, H.E, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto.

“I was accompanied by my legal team and some officials of my administration including the ex-SSG, Muhammad Mainasara Ahmad, Mni, ex-Chief of Staff, Muktar Magori, ex-Attorney General, and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Dr. Sulaiman Usman, SAN, among others.

“In leading the younger generation, we must instill in them utmost respect for the rule of law and constituted authorities.

“As citizens, we should realize that no one, no matter how highly placed, should be above the laws of the land, most specifically, the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This, amongst other things, brings out the beauty in democracy.

“I wish the commission the very best in its sitting”.
