Terry G calls out Timaya over unpaid royalties

Nigerian singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, Akpako Master or Ginjah Master has called out his colleague and dancehall singer Timaya over alleged royalties debt.

He also accused Timaya and other music producers of using him.

Terry G in a post on his Instagram page, accusing Timaya of not paying the agreed royalties for a song that he produced for him.

Expressing frustration over the issue, the singer said other artists have been speaking up about similar problems in the industry.

Terry G said “Looking at all the podcasts and artists speaking up, the table will be used for firewood the day I will talk my own if you know I produced a song for you.

“I need my 50% producer publishing royalties from Timaya and others. For all the producers out there use me as an example of how they use and dump greatness. But still, I rise.”

Recently, Terry G expressed disappointment in his colleagues for ignoring him during a challenging period.

He shared his sadness regarding the lack of response from fellow artistes despite his persistent attempts to reach out for support.

Terry G reflected on of their actions, recalling how he had previously been there for them when they sought his help.

Expressing his frustration, Terry G questioned whether it would take his death for them to acknowledge his contributions.

In 2023, the singer engaged the All Progressives Congress (APC) in an online outburst for allegedly failing to pay him for his campaign performances.

In 2020, he spoke about not landing endorsement deals because a negative image was cast on him.

“I looked like the baddest guy in Nigeria. Endorsement time came, nobody endorsed me. Nobody did anything all that time when Terry G was hot,” he had said.
