Chairman of the Kano State chapter of the NLC, Kabiru Inuwa, has expressed appreciation for the commendable leadership exhibited by the Police during the recent Labour demonstrations in Kano.

During a press briefing on Thursday in Kano, Inuwa praised the Commissioner of Police, Usaini Gumel, for his supportive approach towards protesters and his professional handling of the situation.

He emphasized that the purpose of the protest was to highlight the current challenges of hardship and insecurity facing the nation, and he noted that the national headquarters of the NLC acknowledged the effectiveness of the Police’s actions after reviewing the events of the first day.

As a result, the union decided to call off the protests originally planned for Wednesday.
