The tension between 15-time champion, The Rock and Royal Rumble winner, Cody Rhodes will be set for a new turn on Friday Night Smackdown when The Great One makes a return to the show.

It will be broadcast live on WWE Network on GOtv.

The American Nightmare, in company with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, issued a fight challenge to The Rock at The Elimination Chambers last Saturday. Rhodes is keen on revenge against Rocky who famously slapped him at WrestleMania XL Kickoff early in the month.

Rhodes, who is billed for a consecutive wrestlemania fight against Roman Reigns, The Undisputed Universal Champion, declared war on every member of The Bloodline comprising Reigns, Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso and the most recent addition, The Rock. Recall that members of the tribe were instrumental in ensuring Reigns’ victory over The American at the last Wrestlemania.

The WWE Universe are eagerly anticipating The Rock’s response to Rhodes’ challenge and how it could shape things ahead of the highly anticipated WrestleMania XL. Fans are also hoping the feud between The Rock and Rhodes will result in a tag team clash between the duo of Reigns and Rock against Rhodes and Rollins.

Meanwhile, on the back of his Elimination Chamber’s victory which earned him the right to fight Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania for the World Heavyweight Championship belt, Drew McIntire on Monday admonished Rollins to steer clear off Rhodes’ feud with The Bloodline, noting that the feared tribe will interfere in their Wrestlemania bout and cost him the title.
