The Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Edo State, Mr Gbenga Agun, has said that the Command is committed to the mandate of protecting critical national assets.

This is even as he vowed to take the war against vandalism to the vandals at their hideouts.

He made the vow on Wednesday in Benin when he paid a courtesy call on the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, to seek royal blessing and support of the palace.

He was joined on the visit by other senior officers of the Command.

The NSCDC boss said he was deployed to the State to ensure the lives and properties of the citizens are safe and secured.

He said: “I am in Edo State to make sure the lives and properties of citizens are secured and also to chase out vandals.

“At the NSCDC, one of our cardinal mandates is to protect the critical national assets. I want to tell Your Royal Majesty that Edo Command is committed to this mandate.”
