.Police Urge Nigerians to be cautious of criminals’ antics

Police operatives in Lagos have arrested one Olaseinde Ojo, a suspected armed robber and kidnapper who usually disguised as a as a mentality unbalanced person to get his victims.

Ojo, was one of the suspects recently arrested by the police in Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Force Spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi said on his X handle on Thursday.

According to him, Ojo who “disguises as a lunatic to get close to his victims and rob or kidnap them,” was arrested at the Post Office, Isokoko area of Lagos State.

Adejobi added that operatives in Lagos State Command patrolling Dolphin Bridge axis also intercepted a dispatch rider identified as Samson Shina who was possession of a locally made pistol and some charms.

In the same vein, he revealed that operatives of the FCT command on stop at search duty around Taxi Park area, Abuja, accosted a motorcycle with one Usman Musa as the driver and two others

He said the police operatives found in their possession a locally fabricated Beretta pistol with 11 rounds of live ammunition.

He added that a search conducted in their houses also led to recovery of $5,800 fake dollar notes and other incriminating items.

The Force spokesperson, however, urged Nigerians to be vigilant about the things going on in their environment.

“Amid rising concerns about personal safety, the Nigeria Police urges citizens to remain vigilant and prioritize their security.

“With recent reports highlighting various incidents, including thefts, defilement, and assault, it’s essential for individuals to take proactive measures.

“These include being sensitive to their surroundings, especially in unfamiliar areas, and avoiding isolated or poorly lit places, particularly at night.

“Moreover, members of the public are encouraged to keep their belongings secure and to report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.

“By staying alert and cautious, everyone can play a role in fostering a safer society for all, and we will not fall into the antics of the criminals” Adejobi said.
