A Magistrates’ Court on Friday, sentenced a 47-year- old trader, Victor Martins to three months in imprisonment without option of fine for trespassing and stealing books from a school.

The convict pleaded guilty to the two count -charge of trespass and theft.

The Magistrate, Mr Tapmwa Gotep , after listening to Martins guilty plea, sentenced him to three months in correctional centre without any option of fine.

She said the judgment would serve as deterrent to those who would want to indulge in such act.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Daniel Longwal told the court that the case was reported on Feb.23, at the Anglo-Jos Police station by Mongai Obi.

Longwal said that the convict trespassed into the school and stole books belonging to the students before he was caught.

He said that offence is punishable under the provisions of the Plateau Penal Code Law.
