The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Friday defeated the Black Stars of Ghana 2-1 in an international friendly match played in Marrakesh, Morocco.
The Eagles who were runner-up in the last African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, opened the scoring in the 38 minute of the encounter from the penalty spot.
Cyriel Dessers, who plies his trade at Glasgow Rangers in Scotland won the battle of wills and sent an unstoppable shot into the net to give the Eagles 1-0 lead.
The Black Stars were down to 10-men in the 56th minute of the game as Jerome Opoku was sent off.
Ademola Lookman who came in as a substitute in the 79th minute doubled Nigeria’s lead in the 84th minute of the game.
The Black Stars pulled one back from the penalty spot five minutes into added time. Jordan Ayew converted the kick to make it 2-1.
