Nigerian music superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid has said he loves to be underestimated.
According to the Grammy-winning singer, it is his biggest motivation.
The musician disclosed this in an Instagram live session with TEFLives when the host asked how he handles the external pressure to constantly prove himself.
Wizkid said, “I love it when people underestimate me, it fuels me more than anything else in the world.”
In December 2023, Wizkid released his latest musical project, the “Soundman Vol. 2” EP.
The four-tracks project includes vibrant collaborations with industry heavyweights Wande Coal and Zlatan Ibile.
Notably, ‘Soundman Vol. 1’ was released in December 2019.
The release of this project comes a month after Wizkid hinted at taking a five-year hiatus from music.
The Afrobeats star stated that he would be taking four or five years off the music scene.
He added that he is considering taking up football or golf.
He wrote in broken English, “Back in 4 years, make una papa chop him money small or maybe five or I fit still go dey play ball now.
“Or make I start dey play golf. fifa or wrestling b*tch!”All of una dey craze! Everybody dey mad.
“On some G shit, I hope you mofuckas alright body mind and soul and taking time out to enjoy with your loved ones.”
