Former President Muhammadu Buhari has commended his successor, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing excellent services to the country in a telephone call to congratulate the latter on his 72nd birthday.
Buhari who had earlier issued a statement to congratulate his successor on his 72 birthday also assured him of his full and commitment to the success of his administration.
This was disclosed in statement on Friday by the former presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu.
He added that Buhari also prayed for sound health of Tinubu during the phone conversation while commending Tinubu for what he described as excellent leadership so far.
“In the course of the conversation, the former president said he was fully committed to the success of the APC administration under President Tinubu.
“In this regard, President Buhari prayed profusely for Tinubu’s success, saying that praying for a leader is imperative as his success and well-being are for the nation (everyone), adding that the accomplishments of the new administration must be seen as national achievements,” the statement reads.
