Police begin manhunt for suspect who allegedly raped minor

Edo State Police Command has started a manhunt for man, Promise who stands accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.

The PUNCH reports that the suspect  was alleged to have raped the minor to a state of unconsciousness in the Uwa area in Oredo Local Government Area of the state.

The report says  the suspect lured the minor into his room, raped her and abandoned her in her unconscious state before absconding..

According to the report, the command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident. He said the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Adesuwa Police Station, Benin, received a report of defilement on March 27 from the mother of the victim who resides along Uwa Street off, Sapele Road Benin.

He said, “I can confirm that the police got a report of defilement. One promise was said to have raped a 13-year-old girl to a state of unconsciousness and has since run away.”
