Stalemate at Etihad as Arsenal hold Man. City

It was a stalemate at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday as Arsenal held defending champions Manchester City to a goalless draw.

Liverpool are now on top after they defeated Brighton 2-1 at Anfield earlier in the day.

Arsenal, though had two shots on target came with a game plan, which was to defend massively and it paid off for them.

City‘s massive ball possession of 72 per cent as against Arsenal’s 28 per cent counted for nothing without scoring a goal.

The homers churned out 12 attempts on goal, with only one shot on target throughout the entire game.

In the 15th minute, Nathan Ake jumped inside the box to meet the corner and aimed a low header towards middle of the goal, but the goalkeeper showed his reflexes to stop the effort.

In the 52nd minute, Bukayo Saka broke past challenges inside the box, but put too much pace on his pass to Gabriel Jesus.
