Content creator and skit maker Yemi Elesho has alleged that some of Asake’s friends from his days as a struggling artist are complaining that he no longer reply their messages.
Elesho, who attended the same university with Asake, claimed the singer couldn’t afford accommodation throughout his four years at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife but friends accommodated him.
He said since hitting stardom, Asake has moved on from keeping tabs on old friends because of his new-found lifestyle.
He, however, said it was natural for Asake to snub some of his “old friends” as he could not possibly carry all of them along.
Speaking in a recent interview with Echo Room, Elesho said:
“Asake is big and a lot of his friends are complaining that he doesn’t reply to their messages but it’s a natural thing, he can’t carry everybody along.”
Asake signed to YBNL Nation in February 2022 where he released his debut extended play, Ololade, which featured his breakthrough song ‘Omo Ope’ featuring Olamide and the single ‘Sungba.’
