Fast rising Nollywood actor Chidi Dike has said Nollywood industry will be a better place if old actors groom new actors and build new sets of generational actors.
Chidi stated this in an interview while narrating his journey o how he became a sought after in the movie industry.
The actor said joining the industry was challenging and difficult in the beginning as he struggled to get roles from movie producers.
Describing his early days in the industry, he said he knew he was talented but didn’t get an opportunity to showcase his prowess not until he met Ruth Kadiri, a movie producer and an actress.
He added that the Nollywood industry will be a better place if old actors groom new actors and build new sets of generational actors.
“Joining the movie industry was quite challenging. In the beginning, I did not get many acting roles, because I did not know many people in the industry, but I believed I was talented. However, things changed when I met actress Ruth Kadiri.
“I think the industry will be a better place if producers and directors take more time to discover new talents, because there are a lot out there.
“The old faces in the industry are already established. They should intentionally bring up younger ones, and build the next generation of artists. The industry will grow even bigger if they can invest in younger people,” he said.
