Liverpool forced Manchester United to a 2-2 draw on Sunday at the Old Trafford to keep tabs on league leader, Arsenal, which lead on goal difference.

United pushing for a top four finish and Liverpool seeking to win the league title had a thrilling encounter at the Old Trafford.

The visitors opened the scoring midway into the first half. The corner came over and Darwin Nunez flicked on with his head to Luis Diaz, who made no mistake and fired the ball into the back of the net.

United equalised in the 50th minute. Bruno Fernandes got to the ball and unleashed a strong shot from distance. It turned out to be a good decision as his effort found its way into the bottom right corner.

Midway into the second half, United scored their second goal. Aaron Wan-Bissaka showed great vision to find Kobbie Mainoo with a cheeky pass inside the box, and his first-time shot was precise and sailed into the right side of the goal to make it 2-1.

Liverpool got a lifeline in the 84th minute as they were awarded a penalty. Mohamed Salah drove the ball low into the left of the net, giving goalkeeper Andre Onana no chance.
