A Nigerian-British travel content creator, Pelumi Nubi driving from London to Lagos, has finally arrived in Nigeria, after spending two months on the road.

The content creator made and shared footage of herself on arrival in Lagos.

Nubi arrived in Lagos on April 7, making her way to the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

In November, Nubi announced her intention to embark on a solo trip from London to Lagos.

She announced the trip on January 30.

During the trip, the Nigerian lady traversed 17 countries beginning from England to France, Spain, and then Morocco.

Nubi thereafter passed through the West Sahara Desert, Mauritania, Senegal, and Gambia. She will also continue through Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, and Benin, before arriving in Lagos.

The development comes nearly two years after Kunle Adeyanju, the Nigerian tourist, rode a bike from London to Lagos.

Pelumi had initially announced that she would arrive in Lagos on March 23.

However, she said the date had been changed due to border issues she was experiencing in some countries.

She also recently disclosed that she was denied entry at the Sierra Leonian and Liberian borders.

Nubi made the trip with a Peugeot 107. The vehicle has been customised with features that will enable space for sleeping and dining.

At UNILAG, the content creator was received by Toke Benson-Awoyinka, Lagos commissioner of tourism, arts and culture.

Pelumi, who was welcomed by cultural troupes told newsmen that she was grateful for the rousing welcome and encouragement.

” I was very lonely, I missed my family and friends. I was shaken when I had an accident but I’m grateful it was just a temporary setback.

“I’m grateful for the encouragement and the rousing welcome given to me; I’m grateful for my parents and their unflinching support and prayers, I can’t thank them enough.

“I’m grateful for welcoming me, I’m grateful for all the encouragement, thank you and God bless,” she said.

Also present at the reception was Idris Aregbe, the special adviser on tourism, arts and culture in Lagos.

On March 26, Nubi revealed that she was involved in a car accident.

She also shared photos of the wrecked car with the front part severely mangled and the windscreen shattered.

She, however, said she would continue her trip when she regains strength.

Nubi’s passion for travel is not new. In a social media post of 2022, she disclosed that she had visited 77 countries at age 27.
