Adeola Aderounmu, sibling of the late actress Jumoke Aderounmu, has confronted Funke Akindele on the live video she made in response to his claim of neglecting his sister during her dying moments.
Following the passing of the budding actress, Adeola had criticized Funke Akindele for publicly mourning Jumoke despite allegedly ignoring her pleas for help during her illness.
Accusing Funke of insincere displays of affection and hypocrisy, Adeola revealed that Jumoke had attempted to contact Funke multiple times and had sought assistance through friends, but received no response.
He questioned the authenticity of her mourning, suggesting it was only after Jumoke’s death that she showed any semblance of concern.
In a Instagram Live session on Tuesday, Funke broke down in tears, recounting her personal struggles with loss and adversity, including the loss of her mother, marriage, and political challenges, while expressing confusion over accusations leveled against her.
Funke claimed that she had attempted to reach out to Jumoke while she was alive, only to be informed by Jide Awobona that Jumoke preferred to be contacted only for job opportunities.
She stated that she had reached out to Adeola after Jumoke’s death, but received no response, and was unaware of Jumoke’s illness.
In response, Adeola admonished Funke to refrain from public displays of emotion, stating that her gestures were insincere, given her alleged neglect of Jumoke during her lifetime.
He questioned the authenticity of her intentions,stating her profession as an actress skilled in pretense, and urged her to treat those around her with greater compassion.
Adeola further disclosed that he had been contacted by the children of another colleague from Funke Akindele’s TV series, “Jenifa’s Diary,” who similarly claimed that the actress had abandoned their mother in her time of need.
Referring to allegations made by “Jenifa’s children,” Adeola challenged Funke’s version of events and urged her to improve her treatment of her staff.
