Nollywood actress Mary Remmy Njoku has taken to her Instagram to pose a thought-provoking question to Nigerians regarding their tendency to criticize grieving widows.

Drawing attention to instances like Mohbad’s wife and now Junior Pope’s wife, she questioned why even in the tragic circumstance of a husband’s death, such as in a plane crash, some would still find a way to blame the widow, suggesting she caused it spiritually.

Mary sarcastically referenced the common belief of blaming the wife for supposedly causing her husband’s death, saying, “She frustrated him and he boarded the flight to find peace in the air.”

“Even in cases where a husband dies in a plane crash along with 100 other victims, some will suggest that the wife orchestrated it spiritually. She frustrated him and he boarded the flight to find peace in the air”.

This comes in the wake of allegations against Junior Pope’s wife, Jennifer Awele, by a Twitter user, Papi Jnr, who accused her of sleeping with wealthy individuals. Though the tweet has since been deleted.
