Arsenal’s bid to break 20-year-old premier league title jinx suffered setback at the Emirates on Sunday as they were stunned 0-2 by Aston Villa.

With this result, Manchester City are now fully in charge at the top of the English Premier League, with Liverpool also suffering from a shocking home defeat to Crystal Palace.

Arsenal needed a win to remain on top of the premier league but they threw away their opportunities.

After a goalless first half, Villa scored two late goals to silence the crowd at the Emirates Stadium.

Villa struck six minutes to the end of the match. Lucas Digne sprayed a pass out to Leon Bailey and he had an easy job to slot the ball into an empty net to make the score 0-1.

Three minutes later, Ollie Watkins received a killer pass, found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and scored with aplomb inside the left post for Villa’s second goal.

Four minutes into added time, the visitors almost score another goal. Watkins received a killer pass, but his shot from the six-yard box was a disaster. He miskicked and made it very easy for David Raya to get hold of the ball.

Earlier, Watkins produced a header from inside the box, but the ball floated just over the bar.

In the 12th minute, Kai Havertz received a precise pass in the box and took the shot early. The ball headed towards the middle of the goal, but Emiliano Martinez showed off his skills and made a brilliant save to deny him.

In the 39th minute, Watkins unleashed a thunderous effort from the edge of the box and the ball crashed against the left post.
