Former Big Brother Naija reality star, Mike Edwards has taken a surprise turn in his athletics, announcing his foray into professional boxing.
The two-time Nigerian high jump champion made the announcement via his X handle on Friday.
He would be joining the Cruiserweight division of the Misfits Boxing.
His debut bout would be against Jake Cornish on a yet-to-be-announced date.
Edwards wrote, “Breaking News: Excited to announce my entry into the world of professional boxing! Thrilled to join the Cruiserweight division roster on @MisfitsBoxing.
“Get ready for an electrifying debut as I step into the ring to showcase my skills and determination.”

Mike Edwards is known as a high-jump athlete and entrepreneur who runs his male grooming and Cigar company, Aireyys, the first black-owned cigar line in the United Kingdom.
Mike is married to Perri Shakes-Drayton who is a retired British track and field athlete. She is the 2013 European Indoor Champion in the 400 metres and won a 2012 World Indoor Championship gold medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay. She has also won silver and bronze medals in the 4 × 400 m relay at the World Championships.
