President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of qualified Nigerians to the Board of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).
This is contained in a statement issued by presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale on Friday.
Tinubu appointed Ms. Halima Kyari as Chairperson of the NAICOM Board and Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin as the Commissioner for Insurance.
Also appointed into the board are Mr. Olawoye Gam-Ikon, Deputy Commissioner (Technical Operations); Dr. Usman Ankara Jimada, Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Administration) and Dr. Miriam Kene Kachikwu, Mr. Adeniyi Olusegun Fabikun and Mr. Umar Khalifa Mohammed as members.
Ngelale said President Tinubu expected the new Board of the National Insurance Commission to exercise utmost probity as it leads the commission in ensuring a safe, sound, and stable insurance sector, while protecting policyholders, the public interest, and improving trust and confidence in the sector.
