The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) on Monday stormed a Chinese supermarket in Abuja where Nigerians are barred from shopping and shut it down.

The Chinese owner of the restaurant, Cindy Liu Bei has reportedly fled with her family after the story leaked that Nigerians are barred from shopping at the supermarket.

The Punch had reported on Sunday that the supermarket had implemented a controversial policy restricting entry solely to Chinese nationals, excluding Nigerians from patronising the establishment.

Officials of the FCCPC stormed the supermarket located within the China General Chamber of Commerce in Abuja on Monday and shut it down.

Nigerians had expressed outrage over the dastardly act of the Chinese owner barring them from shopping at the supermarket in their own land.
