Abbas welcomes take off of consumer credit scheme

House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas says President Bola Tinubu’s approval of the take off of the Consumer Credit Scheme shows that the president is determined to better the lives of Nigerians through people-oriented policies and programmes.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Abbas said the scheme will improve the quality of life as beneficiaries will be able to acquire credit for goods and services and repay later.

“This is a laudable initiative by the president, which, I believe, will promote transparency and reduce corruption and waste within the civil service eventually, since workers will have the opportunity to get credit for goods and services,” he said.

According to him this “will put more food on the tables of Nigerians and bring everlasting smiles on the faces of many people.”
