Defending champions Manchester City beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 away from home on Sunday to mount pressure on premier league leader Arsenal.
City have played a game less than Arsenal and will go on top if they win that game. City will also claim the premier league title if they win their remaining four matches.
Arsenal had earlier today defeated Tottenham 3-2 in a London derby to stay on top of the premier league right now.
After a cagey start, City opened the scoring 32 minutes into the encounter. Josko Gvardiol met the corner from Kelvin De Bruyne and displayed his eye for goal as he coolly planted a header from close range into the left side of the goal.
Six minutes later, Chris Wood latched on to an accurate pass deep into the box and attempted to fire the ball past the keeper, but the shot was way off target.
Forest almost equalised three minutes into first half added time. Murillo was quickest to the rebound but the ball hit the crossbar.
Few minutes after the restart, Chris Wood latched on to a pass inside the box, but his low effort towards the right post was well blocked.
City added a second goal in the 71st minute of play. Kevin De Bruyne teed up Erling Haaland inside the box and he rolled the ball into the bottom left corner and past Matz Sels.
