A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Seyi Olorunsola has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to facilitate the entrance of Chief Leke Abejide to the party as it in Kogi state needs him for further consolidation.

Olorunsola, in an interview with our Correspondent, described Abejide as, “the shining star of Kogi politics, capable of attracting huge political capital to the APC to deepen its developmental agenda.

“Honourable Abejide has over the last two election circles used his positive influence to expand the political reach of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the Yoruba speaking area of Kogi State. ”

Olorunsola further stated that: “The Kabba/Bunu Federal Constituency is now represented by the ADC, snatching victory from the APC and PDP in the process. This positive influence of Hon. Abejide speaks about his capacity to continue to extend his political base, and this is a huge advantage on his part.

“It is against this backdrop that I implore President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to recognize the invaluable contribution of Hon. Leke Abejide and extend an invitation for him to join the ranks of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“By embracing Abejide and integrating his leadership prowess into the political machinery of the APC, we can catalyze a paradigm shift towards a more progressive and inclusive form of governance in Kogi State.

“The infusion of Abejide’s visionary leadership into the mainstream of party politics in the APC would not only amplify his impact but also afford him access to the necessary levers of power to effect lasting change for the betterment of all.

“The likes of Hon. Leke Abejide are a rare breed in the political landscape of Nigeria—individuals whose unwavering dedication to service and commitment to the common good transcend the confines of partisan politics.”

According to him, ” as the 2023 ADC governorship candidate in Kogi State, Abejide has not only mirrored the consciousness of development but has exemplified it in tangible, transformative ways, especially in the area of education and other critical sectors.”

He said: “At a time when the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, finds himself embroiled in scandalous allegations of misappropriation of state funds for personal gain, the stark contrast in leadership ethos becomes glaringly apparent when juxtaposed with Abejide’s unwavering commitment to his people.

“Reports alleging the diversion of a substantial sum of money from the state coffers to pay for the exorbitant tuition fees of Bello’s children paint a disheartening picture of governance gone astray. In stark contrast, Abejide’s steadfast dedication to the educational advancement of the less privileged students in his constituency, wherein he pays the WAEC/NECO fees of students for years un-end now, speaks volumes about his integrity and genuine concern for the future of his people.

“Long before assuming the mantle of a legislator, Abejide had already begun sowing the seeds of progress by shouldering the burden of paying examination fees for indigent students. This noble act, born out of a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of education, laid the foundation for his subsequent endeavors as a representative of the people. Upon ascending to the esteemed position of House of Representatives Member, Abejide not only expanded the scope of his benevolence but also intensified his efforts in uplifting his constituency through various initiatives, including infrastructure development and empowerment programs.

“However, the significance of Abejide’s leadership transcends the boundaries of his constituency. His exemplary track record serves as a beacon of hope for the entire state of Kogi, illuminating a path towards inclusive and people-centric governance.

“In a political landscape often marred by partisan divides and self-serving interests, Abejide’s principled stance and unwavering commitment to the common good stand as a testament to the transformative power of genuine leadership.”
