Singer Simi has shed light on the choice behind naming her collaboration with Tiwa Savage ‘Men Are Crazy’, a track that has been highly anticipated by fans.

During an interview on Way Up With Angela Yee, the acclaimed Nigerian artiste addressed the stir caused by the title.

Simi revealed she initially refrained from delving into the reasoning behind the controversial title, opting instead to let the song itself explain its message upon release.

She emphasized her belief that the track would effectively reflect the intended meaning.

“I honestly wasn’t going to go on an explaining spree at the time. I was like when the song comes out they will see what I’m trying to say,” Simi stated.

Acknowledging the online reaction stirred by the title, Simi noted that it unintentionally fueled anticipation for the song’s release, thus contributing to its rollout strategy.

Simi stated Tiwa’s role in softening the song’s message through her lyrics, specifically citing the line “Men are crazy but I still want one in my bed”, which she revealed was initially intended to be more straightforward with just “men are crazy”.

Simi and Tiwa Savage teamed up to release ‘Men are Crazy’ a month ago.

Tiwa Savage announced the collaboration on her Instagram page with the caption: ” Men are actually crazy but still want one in my bed sha. My sis @symplysimi got one crazy record ft ABG this Friday 5/4/24.”
