Palmadex founder bags FUTA Alumni Association’s Award of Excellence

Dr. Benard Omoyeni, Founder and CEO of Palmadex Group, has been honoured by distinguished Futarians at the FUTA Alumni Association 2024 Reunion and Interactive session with the Vice Chancellor, Prof (Mrs) Temidayo Adenike Oladiji held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Eko Innovation Center, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The award was in recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions to human capital and entrepreneurship development, and for being a worthy ambassador of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA).

Speaking at the occasion, Prof. Oladiji eulogized the significant contributions Dr. Omoyeni has made to society and his support in cementing the legacy of FUTA as a leading Nigerian university of Technology.

According to her, as a successful entrepreneur, Palmadex boss has immensely contributed to Nigerian GDP, creating employment and building human capacity.

In the same vein, the FUTA Alumni President, Worldwide, Engr. Adeyemi Bello commended his efforts in giving back to his alma mater and the society.

Dr. Omoyeni, founded the Palmadex Group in 2015, a company he has nurtured and managed to become a top-rated exporter of Dried Hibiscus Flowers, Sesame Seeds, Dried Split Ginger, Soyabeans, Tiger Nuts, Raw Cashew Nuts, Peanuts (Groundnuts), Stone Flowers, Nigerian/African Foods, raw materials and many other agro products.

Dr. Omoyeni graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife from the Federal University of Technology, Akure in 1997.

He has earned a rich academic profile with a Master’s in Public Administration; an M.Sc. in Geographic Information Systems; a PhD in Environmental Management and a Doctor of Business Administration (Honourary causa).

He has a diverse career spanning academic, oil and gas and agro-business, excelling in his various roles.

Dr. Omoyeni is also an author and a philanthropist who founded the Julius Omoyeni Foundation for Educational Development (JOFEDEV) to support indigent students.

He is a Fellow of various institutes, demonstrating his contributions to environmental science and management consultancy. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Benard Omoyeni is a dedicated Minister of God, a public analyst and a community mobilizer, striving for national unity and development.

Other distinguished FUTA alumni honoured with the Award of Excellence for their achievements and contributions to society and alma mater include Pastor Godman Akinlabi, founder of the Elevation Church, Lekki; Engr. James Ogbe, CEO of PESO Energy Services; Prof. Taibat Lawanson; Dr. Goodluck Enimakpokpo, and Engr Koloh Edwin among others.

At the event to receive the award from Palmadex were the Director of Business Development, Mrs Uzoma Omoyeni and Palmadex Operations Manager, Dr. Patrick Omoyeni.

The event which featured an interactive session with the Vice Chancellor provided the opportunity for discussions on the improvement opportunities to sustain the achievement of the University as No 3 in Nigeria and to seek ways of improving the performance.

This necessitated the call from the Vice Chancellor for the awardees and all proud alumni of the University to redouble their efforts and contributions to the physical, academic and infrastructural development of the University through sponsorship of innovative programs, mentorship, investment in projects and collaborations with the institution.

The award night in the end was judged as very successful and impactful.
