CAN loses 6 women members in Taraba road crash

Six members of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN) returning from a conference in Gembu, the headquarters of Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba to Jalingo, the state capital have died in a road crash.

The women who were members of the Taraba wing of WOWICAN were traveling in an 18-seater bus and were returning to their home after the conference before the tragic crash on Sunday afternoon

Meanwhile, Taraba State governor, Agbu Kefas, has described the death of the WOMICAN members as tragic and heartbreaking

The Governor, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser Media and Digital Communications, Emmanuel Bello, condoled with the families of the victims of the road crash.

He said the incident had brought a “black Sunday for the state.”

The Governor also also condoled with CAN, WOWICAN and the entire Christian community in the state and Nigeria.

“The circumstances of their death are regrettably tragic as they were returning from the women’s wing CAN Conference which ended yesterday in Gembu, Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba state.”

“While praying for the repose of their souls, the governor pledged his administration’s continued commitment to safer roads, especially within areas that posed great threats to life.”
